This album was born of my love for music and poetry, and a deep appreciation of my rural surroundings. It is named after the self-titled poem I wrote as the theme for the music. Each of the six compositions describes one of the verses. Inspired by the remote landscapes of the Western Cape of South Africa, the poetry and music are wistful and musing. They vividly evoke the happy memory of swallows in summer and fields in the wind.
